  There are really 3 answers:
- Get the Instrument Control Toolbox for MATLAB. The Toolbox was specifically designed to resolve this issue. You already got that answer.
- Ask the folks who told you it could be done how to do it, since it's not supported, by either Keysight or The Mathworks. If they can't tell you, then you may have to figure it out yourself.
- Use something besides MATLAB.
