  Hi John -

The W6141A application is a for-pay option.  You can check to see if the W6141A application is present on your CXA by either:

-Press “Mode” on the front panel and you should see “EMI Receiver” in the menu (you might have to press “more” if you have more than a few applications installed).
-Or Press “System”, “Show”, “System”.  If you purchased the W6141A option, you will see it in this list.

If the W6141A application is present, you can use the EMI Average detector in Spectrum Analyzer trace measurements.

While possible to use the EMI Average detector in Spectrum Analyzer trace measurements, there is a better measurement methodology we recommend because it is generally faster.

1)      Within the W6141A application, sweep the spectrum with the peak detector using the “Scan” function.
2)     Any signals above the limit line are captured and automatically put into the signal list using the “Search” function.
3)     Measure the signals in the signal list with the EMI detectors using the “Measure” function.

Thanks for the answer. Your answer clarifies the confusion I had. I now have enough information to improve our remote control of the N9000-series.
I will be using the SYST:CAT? query to determine if the EMI application is installed, and select the correct average detector for the Spectrum analyzer trace.
