他们运行在5V(直接从USB)。

    Hi all,

For a design I am working on, I plan using the BM71 Bluetooth module. This one runs on 3.3V.
The configuration software for it looks specifically for a MCP2200 USB-to-serial converter.
There are a few demo boards out there. They run on 5V (directly from the USB).

The MCP2200 can run on 3V...5V according to the datasheet.

My question: can I run the MCP2200 on 5V and still receive 3V signals ?

Thanks,
Edward

Not reliably.  At 5V Vdd, iIts logic '1' output level will over-drive the 3.3V device if that doesn't have 5V tolerant inputs, and logic '1' from the 3.3V device may not meet its minimum logic '1' input threshold.  Unless you want to use level converters on all lines, you need to configure the MCP2200 for 3.3V self-powered operation i.e. tie Vdd to Vu***, and  power both from your exernal 3..3V supply or if you *REALLY* need it to be bus powered, from a 3.3V LDO powered from USB Vbus
