From VRF (another discussion group via email), no big issue of running older program so far. I have not heard of any program modification is needed. However, you may want to take note of below.
1. Matlab. Some steps need to be done when using Matlab in VEE for the first time. This is captured in 9.31 read me file attached.
2. Instrument driver. If you are using Direct IO to talk to 34980A, it should works fine. However, if you are using any other driver, verify those driver can be installed on Windows 7. Some IVI drivers will failed during installation and you may need to get the version that supports Windows 7.
