If not then you'll need to add one in your VEE runtime config as 'not live'. Then you should be able to open your VEE program which presumably sets the port address dynamically. Typically I have a few 'dummy' addresses such as Ser_Dev as a non-live serial device, Gpib_Dev as a non-live GPIB device and so on used for setting up programs with instruments and then the real address is set up at run-time using an alias such as Scope1 which is linked to a live address on the workstation / PC.
