I've confirmed that the threads are not M12x1.5, so I've no idea whatsoever what they are supposed to be. 

Can the stock NMD coupling nuts be pulled off without having to go through a complete re-alignment/connector calibration?

What exactly needs replacing on this 8720D VNA - is the parts available 

That thread which is damaged is on my VNA. It is 3.5 mm NMD not 2.4 mm, but I suspect it is similar. As noted in that thread,  changing that threa requires realignment to close tolerances.  Agilent quoted me a huge amount of money to sort that out. I forgot the exact amount but it was over £3000, which is around $5000. A friend fixed it for me using a file - similar to what Dr_Joel said in that thread. 

I have the part you see there. I could photograph it if you wish.  Despite having a replacement for the damaged part, I have not replaced it due to the requirements for alignment. 
There is a good chance that the part you need is similar to what I have, so if you want a photo let me know.

  Yup drkirby, that would be it, but the 2.4mm variant. I think I now see what happened. Probably someone hosed the connector innards and pulled them out, then pulled the internal interconnect hardline cables out through the front. 

If I understand it correctly, I think I can machine up a replacement that will work and can be aligned, but it's going to be fun. Probably easier to try to hunt down some 2.4mm NMD bulkhead connectors.
