好奇心HPC和PIC18F26K83不能通过USB连接器程序的设备

Hi all,

I have a curiosity HPC and a PIC18F26K83. MPLAB X 4.10 and XC8 version 1.45.
I cannot through the USB connector program the device, as I get the error:

The programmer could not be started: Could not connect to tool hardware: PKOBSKDEPlatformTool, com.microchip.mplab.mdbcore.pkobskde.PKOBSKDEDbgToolManager

Although the microcontroller page clearly calls out the Curiosity HPC as a debugger/dev environment that is supported, and MPLAB release notes do as well, I cannot even connect to the device. Does anybody know when PIC18F26K83 will be supported to be debugged via the Curiosity HPC (PKOB)? I ended up using a ICD3 connected to some unmarked pads which I had to buzz-out in order to program/develop the thing. I understand Microchip supports a vast amount of devices, but - the dev board they recommend doesn't even work as advertised. Any idea of a begin support date for this board and chip?

On my Linux workstation:
PIC18F26K83 on Curiosity HPC did not work on MPLABX version 4.10 (or older) but it works on MPLABX version 4.15.

Still shows a yellow pip for selecting Hardware Tool: Microchip Kits->Starter Kits(PKOB)->Curiosity in the Project Properties dialog box, but now it works (with XC8 version 1.45).

Bottom line---since I haven't tested on anything but Linux---the most I can say is: IWFMYMMV (It Works For Me; Your Mileage May Vary).

Footnote: Same for PIC18F27K42 (and, maybe others). Always try with the latest version of MPLABX and compiler.
